Description

Big Mac Cheeseburger Cups are a fun and delicious twist on the classic burger, serving all the iconic flavors in a convenient, bite-sized cupcake form. Perfect for parties or family dinners, these cheesy, savory cups combine seasoned ground beef, onions, American cheese, and tangy thousand island dressing baked on a bun base and topped with pickles and sesame seeds.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 6 hamburger buns, split
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 slices American cheese, each cut into four pieces
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 12 dill pickle chips
  • ¼ cup Thousand Island dressing
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Non-stick spray for muffin tin

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the cheeseburger cups.
  2. Prepare Muffin Tin: Spray a 12-count regular-size muffin tin with non-stick spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Line Buns: Press half of each hamburger bun, cut side up, into each muffin cup. Press down gently to thin out the bun slightly so it molds well.
  4. Cook Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown and crumble the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  5. Mix Ingredients: Remove the beef from heat, then stir in Worcestershire sauce, finely chopped onion, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until combined.
  6. Add Cheese to Cups: Place one quarter piece of American cheese into the bottom of each bun-lined muffin cup.
  7. Fill Muffin Cups: Evenly divide the beef mixture among the muffin cups, placing it on top of the cheese.
  8. Bake: Bake the cups in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the buns are lightly toasted and the filling is hot.
  9. Add Toppings: Remove from oven, immediately top each cup with another quarter piece of cheese, then sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  10. Add Dressing and Pickles: Drizzle each cup with Thousand Island dressing and place a dill pickle chip on top of each cup for a classic Big Mac flavor.
  11. Serve: Serve warm and enjoy these savory mini cheeseburger cups as a tasty appetizer or snack.

Notes

  • Pressing the buns thin helps them crisp up nicely during baking.
  • You can substitute Thousand Island dressing with your favorite burger sauce if desired.
  • For extra cheesiness, add shredded cheddar in addition to sliced American cheese.
  • These cups reheat well in a microwave or oven for leftovers.
  • Make sure to drain the beef well to avoid soggy buns.
