Description

This creamy and flavorful Boursin Chicken recipe features tender chicken breasts cooked in a luscious garlic and herb cheese sauce. Pan-seared to golden perfection and finished in the oven, it makes a comforting and elegant dinner suitable for any night of the week.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Sauce

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 (5.2 oz) package Boursin garlic and herb cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for finishing the chicken in a creamy sauce.
  2. Season Chicken: Season both sides of the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper for balanced flavor.
  3. Sear Chicken: Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. Prepare Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add chicken broth, heavy cream, and Boursin garlic and herb cheese. Stir continuously until the cheese melts completely and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  5. Combine and Bake: Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven and sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the chicken for a burst of freshness before serving.

Notes

  • Use an oven-safe skillet to seamlessly transition from stovetop to oven without transferring pans.
  • Ensure chicken breasts are patted dry before seasoning and searing for better browning.
  • If you don’t have Boursin cheese, a mix of cream cheese with garlic and herbs can be a substitute.
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after baking to retain juices and enhance tenderness.
  • Serve this dish with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or crusty bread to soak up the creamy sauce.
