Scale
Ingredients
- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 1 (5.2-oz) package Boursin garlic and herb cheese
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1¼ cups Bisquick baking mix
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400ºF (200ºC) to prepare for baking the sausage balls.
- Mix ingredients: Place the ground breakfast sausage, shredded mozzarella cheese, Boursin garlic and herb cheese, cream cheese, and Bisquick baking mix into the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on low speed until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined into a uniform sausage mixture.
- Form sausage balls: Using a small cookie scoop, portion the sausage mixture into evenly sized balls. Place each ball onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart to allow for even cooking.
- Bake: Bake the sausage balls in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until they are golden brown on the outside and cooked through.
- Garnish and serve: Remove the sausage balls from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For best results, use freshly shredded mozzarella cheese rather than pre-shredded to ensure better melting and texture.
- You can substitute Bisquick with an equal amount of all-purpose flour and 1½ teaspoons baking powder if needed.
- These sausage balls can be made ahead and frozen before baking; bake them frozen adding a few extra minutes to cooking time.
- Serve with ranch dressing, marinara, or spicy mustard for a tasty dipping option.
