Description

A delicious and nutritious Carrot Cake Smoothie that blends the flavors of carrot cake into a creamy, healthy beverage. Made with fresh carrots, banana, Greek yogurt, oats, and warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger, this smoothie is perfect for breakfast or a wholesome snack. It’s easy to make and can be customized to be dairy-free or higher in protein.

Ingredients

Scale

Smoothie Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1 cup chopped carrots (steamed and cooled or raw if using a high-speed blender)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 4–5 ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: If you prefer a smoother and slightly sweeter smoothie, steam the chopped carrots and allow them to cool before blending. Otherwise, you can use raw carrots if you have a powerful blender.
  2. Add Ingredients to Blender: Place almond milk, chopped carrots, frozen banana, Greek yogurt, rolled oats, maple syrup, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground ginger, vanilla extract, walnuts (if using), and ice cubes into a blender.
  3. Blend Smoothly: Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides of the blender to ensure everything is combined properly.
  4. Taste and Adjust: Taste the smoothie to check sweetness and spice levels. Add more maple syrup or spices if desired, and blend briefly again to mix.
  5. Serve Immediately: Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy fresh for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, substitute Greek yogurt with coconut yogurt or a plant-based yogurt alternative.
  • Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder to make it a post-workout smoothie rich in protein.
  • Steamed carrots blend more smoothly and impart a naturally sweeter flavor than raw carrots.
