Description

These Chicken Parmesan Sliders are the perfect savory snack or meal, featuring tender cooked chicken tenders layered with marinara sauce, provolone and fresh mozzarella cheeses, and fresh basil, all nestled inside soft King’s Hawaiian rolls. Topped with a buttery garlic-parsley-parmesan mixture and baked until golden and bubbly, these sliders are easy to prepare and sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 12 Kings Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 pound cooked chicken tenders
  • ½ cup marinara sauce
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped

Butter Topping

  • ¼ cup (57g) butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Prepare the rolls: Slice the King’s Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the tops and bottoms intact. Place the bottom halves evenly in a baking dish to form the base.
  3. Layer the sliders: On the bottom half of the rolls, layer provolone cheese slices evenly, then spread the cooked chicken tenders over the cheese. Spoon marinara sauce over the chicken, add sliced fresh mozzarella, and sprinkle chopped fresh basil evenly.
  4. Top the sliders: Place the top halves of the rolls gently over the layered ingredients, pressing lightly to secure everything together.
  5. Make the butter topping: In a small bowl, combine melted butter, sea salt, minced garlic, finely chopped parsley, and grated parmesan cheese. Mix thoroughly to create a flavorful butter mixture.
  6. Brush the rolls: Generously brush the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls, ensuring good coverage for flavor and browning.
  7. Bake the sliders: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the tops to become golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Serve hot: Remove the sliders from the oven, slice between the rolls to separate individual sliders, and serve immediately while warm and melty.

Notes

  • You can substitute cooked chicken tenders with shredded rotisserie chicken for convenience.
  • For an extra kick, add red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce or butter mixture.
  • Use fresh mozzarella for a creamier melt; shredded mozzarella can also work in a pinch.
  • Butter mixture can be prepped ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
  • To reheat, cover sliders with foil and warm at 350°F for 10 minutes to prevent drying out.
