Description

This Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread recipe transforms simple frozen dinner rolls into a deliciously sweet, soft, and gooey treat layered with cinnamon sugar and topped with a smooth vanilla glaze. Perfect for breakfast or dessert, it’s easy to prepare and bakes to a golden brown loaf that pulls apart effortlessly.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Bread

  • 12 frozen dinner rolls
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons whole milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Thaw Rolls: Thaw 12 frozen dinner rolls by placing them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and covering them. Allow them to thaw at room temperature until soft enough to be rolled out.
  2. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Once the rolls have thawed, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9×5-inch loaf pan with non-stick spray to ensure easy removal after baking.
  3. Flatten Rolls: Using your hands or a rolling pin, flatten each roll to about ¼ inch thickness, preparing them for the cinnamon sugar coating.
  4. Coat in Butter Mixture: In a bowl, combine ¼ cup melted unsalted butter, ½ cup granulated sugar, and 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon. Dip each flattened roll into this mixture, ensuring it is fully coated, then stack the rolls on top of each other.
  5. Place in Loaf Pan: Transfer the stacked rolls sideways into the prepared loaf pan, fitting them snugly to fill the pan completely.
  6. Brush with Remaining Butter: Brush any leftover butter and cinnamon sugar mixture over the top of the stacked rolls to enhance flavor and browning.
  7. Rise: Cover the loaf pan and let the dough rise for approximately one hour, or until the dough has nearly reached the top of the pan, creating a fluffy texture.
  8. Bake: Bake the loaf in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes. The exposed dough should turn golden brown, and using a thermometer, the internal temperature should reach 190°F (88°C). Remove from the oven and allow the loaf to cool completely before glazing.
  9. Make the Glaze: While the bread cools, prepare the glaze by mixing 1 cup powdered sugar with 1 tablespoon whole milk and ½ teaspoon vanilla extract. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if necessary until smooth and pourable.
  10. Glaze and Serve: Once the loaf is fully cooled, drizzle the vanilla glaze evenly over the top. Serve the cinnamon pull-apart bread by pulling apart the soft, sweet layers and enjoy!

Notes

  • Ensure rolls are fully thawed before flattening to avoid tearing the dough.
  • You can adjust the amount of cinnamon to suit your taste preferences.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with a plant-based alternative and use a non-dairy milk for the glaze.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days to maintain softness.
  • Reheat slices gently in the microwave for a warm, fresh-out-of-the-oven experience.
