Description

This Copycat Chipotle Guacamole recipe recreates the creamy, tangy, and slightly spicy guacamole that Chipotle is famous for. Made with ripe Haas avocados, fresh red onion, cilantro, jalapeño, lime juice, and sea salt, this easy-to-make guacamole is perfect as a dip or a flavorful side.

Ingredients

Scale

Guacamole Ingredients

  • 3 medium Haas avocados, pit and skin removed (510 grams yield)
  • 6 tbsp red onion, diced (60 grams)
  • 3 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 1 small jalapeño, seeds & veins removed, diced (15 grams)
  • 2 tbsp lime juice (1 fl oz)
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Avocados: In a medium bowl, remove the pits and skins from the avocados. Scoop out the flesh and place it in the bowl ready to be mashed.
  2. Mash the Avocado: Add the sea salt and lime juice to the avocado flesh. Using a fork, mash the mixture to your desired consistency—either chunky or smooth depending on your preference.
  3. Incorporate the Vegetables: Add the diced red onion, chopped cilantro, and diced jalapeño (with seeds and veins removed). Gently fold these ingredients into the mashed avocado until evenly mixed.
  4. Adjust Seasoning: Taste the guacamole and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lime juice as you prefer.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Transfer the guacamole to a serving bowl and serve immediately with tortilla chips, veggie sticks, or as a side accompaniment to your favorite dishes.

Notes

  • For a spicier guacamole, leave some jalapeño seeds in or add more jalapeño.
  • Use freshly squeezed lime juice for the best flavor.
  • To prevent browning, cover guacamole with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface if not serving immediately.
  • Ripe Haas avocados provide the best creamy texture and flavor for this recipe.
