Description

A rich and velvety Creamy Garlic Parmesan Shrimp recipe featuring succulent shrimp cooked in a luscious garlic butter and Parmesan cheese sauce, perfect for an easy and elegant dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the Shrimp: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat to prepare for cooking the shrimp.
  2. Season Shrimp: Season the peeled and deveined shrimp with salt and pepper evenly to enhance flavor.
  3. Cook Shrimp: Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  4. Melt Butter: In the same skillet, lower heat to medium and melt the butter to create the base for the sauce.
  5. Sauté Garlic: Add minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, careful not to burn it.
  6. Add Cream: Pour in the heavy cream and stir gently, bringing the mixture to a simmer for sauce consistency.
  7. Add Cheese & Seasonings: Mix in freshly grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, optional red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper. Stir continuously until sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Combine Shrimp and Sauce: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss them thoroughly in the creamy sauce to coat well.
  9. Simmer: Let the mixture simmer for another 2-3 minutes to heat the shrimp through and allow the sauce to thicken further.
  10. Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately for a delicious meal.

Notes

  • Use fresh shrimp for the best flavor and texture.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to control the spiciness.
  • Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to enjoy the creamy sauce.
  • Keep an eye on the garlic to prevent burning which can cause bitterness.
  • The sauce thickens as it cools, reheat gently if needed.
