Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the Shrimp: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat to prepare for cooking the shrimp.
- Season Shrimp: Season the peeled and deveined shrimp with salt and pepper evenly to enhance flavor.
- Cook Shrimp: Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
- Melt Butter: In the same skillet, lower heat to medium and melt the butter to create the base for the sauce.
- Sauté Garlic: Add minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, careful not to burn it.
- Add Cream: Pour in the heavy cream and stir gently, bringing the mixture to a simmer for sauce consistency.
- Add Cheese & Seasonings: Mix in freshly grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, optional red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper. Stir continuously until sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
- Combine Shrimp and Sauce: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss them thoroughly in the creamy sauce to coat well.
