Description

This Easy and Cheesy Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich combines tender shredded chicken with creamy ranch dressing, melted cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, and crispy bacon, all layered inside toasted sandwich rolls for a warm, flavorful meal perfect for lunch or a quick dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 6 slices cooked crispy bacon

Sandwich

  • 4 soft sandwich rolls or brioche buns
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 4 sliced pickles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken mixture: In a bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken with ranch dressing, mixing well until the chicken is evenly coated. Stir in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses to create a cheesy filling.
  2. Toast the sandwich rolls: Split the sandwich rolls and spread softened butter on the cut sides. Sprinkle garlic powder evenly over the buttered surface. Heat a skillet over medium heat and toast the rolls, buttered side down, until golden brown and lightly crisped. Remove and set aside.
  3. Heat the chicken filling: In the same or separate skillet over medium heat, warm the cheesy chicken mixture until the cheeses melt and the filling is hot throughout, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  4. Assemble the sandwiches: Spoon a generous amount of the warm cheesy chicken mixture onto the bottom halves of the toasted rolls. Top with crispy bacon slices, followed by lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and pickles if using.
  5. Close and serve: Place the top halves of the toasted rolls over the fillings to close the sandwiches. Serve the sandwiches warm for the best flavor and texture experience.

Notes

  • Using rotisserie chicken can significantly reduce prep time and add extra flavor.
  • For added heat, try adding sliced jalapeños to the chicken mixture.
  • Substitute pepper jack cheese in place of mozzarella or cheddar for a spicier twist.
  • Toasting the rolls helps prevent sogginess from the moist chicken filling.
