Description

Deliciously sweet and simple Fried Cinnamon Bananas, perfect as a quick snack or a flavorful breakfast topping. Sliced ripe bananas are gently fried in coconut oil, sprinkled with aromatic cinnamon, and optionally drizzled with honey or nut butter for added richness.

Ingredients

Scale

Banana and Spice

  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced into rounds
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

Cooking Fat

  • 1 tsp coconut oil or butter

Optional Toppings

  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Nut butter for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the Oil: Heat 1 teaspoon of coconut oil or butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until melted and hot.
  2. Add Bananas and Cinnamon: Place the banana slices in the skillet and evenly sprinkle with ½ teaspoon of cinnamon to infuse flavor.
  3. Cook Bananas: Fry the banana slices for 1 to 2 minutes on each side, gently turning until they turn golden and slightly caramelized but not mushy.
  4. Remove and Add Toppings: Remove from heat and, if desired, drizzle with 1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup and some nut butter for extra sweetness and texture.
  5. Serve Warm: Serve immediately while warm, perfect as a wholesome snack or as a topping for breakfast dishes.

Notes

  • Use ripe bananas but not overly soft to avoid mushy texture during frying.
  • Adjust cinnamon amount to taste for more or less spice.
  • Substitute coconut oil with butter or any neutral cooking oil as preferred.
  • Optional honey or nut butter adds extra sweetness and creaminess but can be omitted for a lighter dish.
  • Serve with pancakes, oatmeal, or yogurt for a delicious breakfast upgrade.
