Description

This Garlic Butter Ribeye Steak and Shrimp recipe features succulent ribeye steaks seared to perfection alongside seasoned shrimp, all bathed in a rich garlic butter sauce infused with fresh parsley and a hint of lemon. Ready in just 35 minutes, it’s an elegant yet easy-to-make surf and turf dish that’s perfect for a special dinner or weekend indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak

  • 2 ribeye steaks (1-inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Shrimp

  • 1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steaks: Bring the ribeye steaks to room temperature by letting them sit out for 30 minutes. Pat them dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the Steaks: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Place the steaks in the hot skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare doneness. Adjust the time if you prefer more or less done. Once seared, remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest to retain their juices.
  3. Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Season the shrimp by tossing them with paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
  4. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: Lower the skillet heat to medium. Add the unsalted butter and melt it. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, taking care not to burn the garlic. Stir in the fresh parsley and lemon juice to brighten the sauce.
  5. Combine and Warm: Return the rested steaks and cooked shrimp to the skillet. Spoon the garlic butter sauce over the steak and shrimp, warming them together for 1-2 minutes to blend the flavors.
  6. Serve: Plate the ribeye steaks and shrimp either side-by-side or shrimp atop the steaks. Drizzle any remaining garlic butter sauce over the dish before serving for extra richness and flavor.

Notes

  • Letting the steaks come to room temperature ensures even cooking.
  • Adjust the cayenne pepper or omit for milder shrimp.
  • Resting steak after cooking helps keep it juicy.
  • Use fresh garlic for best flavor; pre-minced garlic won’t be as aromatic.
  • Serve with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
