Description

This playful Green Smoothie Monster recipe combines nutritious fruits and veggies with a fun, creative presentation perfect for kids and adults alike. A blend of banana, apple, spinach, and almond milk creates a deliciously healthy drink, while a whimsical monster face made from mini marshmallows, Hershey’s chocolate spread, and fruit slices adds a festive, eye-catching touch.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Smoothie

  • 2 bananas
  • 1 apple
  • Handful of spinach
  • 3/4 cup almond milk

For Decoration

  • 4 mini marshmallows
  • Hershey’s chocolate spread
  • 4 raisins
  • Lollipop sticks

Instructions

  1. Prepare Marshmallow Teeth: Cut each mini marshmallow in half at an angle to create tooth-shaped pieces for the monster’s mouth.
  2. Apply Teeth and Chocolate: Press these marshmallow ‘teeth’ onto the inside of the serving glass, then use a toothpick to spread Hershey’s chocolate around the marshmallows to enhance the mouth’s appearance.
  3. Prepare Banana Eyes: Slice off 4 slices of banana to serve as the monster’s eyes.
  4. Blend Smoothie: Place the remaining bananas, apple, spinach, and almond milk into a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
  5. Pour and Garnish: Pour the blended smoothie into the decorated glasses.
  6. Assemble Eyes and Nose: Skewer the banana slices onto lollipop sticks, then cut the raisins in half to create pupils and a nose, pressing them into the banana slices to complete the monster’s eyes and nose.

Notes

  • You can substitute almond milk with any preferred milk or milk alternative.
  • For a sweeter smoothie, add a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup if desired.
  • Ensure the fruits are ripe for the best flavor and natural sweetness.
  • This recipe is great for kids’ parties or Halloween-themed events.
