Description

Delicious and easy Grilled Shrimp Skewers served with a rich and flavorful garlic butter sauce. Perfect for a quick weeknight meal or a summertime barbecue, these shrimp are marinated with lemon, garlic, and spices, then grilled to juicy perfection and topped with a buttery, garlicky drizzle.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Shrimp Marinade

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on or off)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

For the Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Shrimp: In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes if using, and fresh parsley if using. Stir well to create the marinade.
  2. Coat the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the marinade and toss thoroughly to ensure each piece is evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors infuse.
  3. Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter carefully.
  4. Sauté Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, taking care not to let it brown.
  5. Finish the Sauce: Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep the sauce warm while grilling the shrimp.
  6. Preheat Grill: Heat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat, making sure it’s properly oiled to prevent sticking.
  7. Thread Shrimp on Skewers: Thread the marinated shrimp evenly onto skewers, leaving space between each shrimp for even cooking.
  8. Grill the Shrimp: Place the shrimp skewers on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until shrimp turn pink and opaque. Avoid overcooking to maintain tenderness.
  9. Remove Shrimp: Take the shrimp off the skewers and transfer them to a serving platter.
  10. Serve: Drizzle the warm garlic butter sauce over the grilled shrimp and garnish with extra fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
