Description

These Healthy Chocolate Strawberry Yogurt Clusters are a perfect nutritious and delicious treat. Combining fresh diced strawberries with creamy vanilla Greek yogurt and a touch of honey, these clusters are frozen to create a delightful bite-sized dessert. Coated in melted chocolate mixed with optional coconut oil, they offer a luscious blend of fruity, creamy, and chocolaty flavors that make for a guilt-free indulgence. Ideal as a refreshing snack or dessert, they’re easy to prepare and keep well in the freezer for up to three months.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit & Dairy

  • 1 1/2 cups diced strawberries (approximately 250g after dicing)
  • 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt or dairy-free Greek yogurt (240g)

Sweeteners

  • 2 tbsp honey or pure maple syrup (can omit if using sweetened yogurt)

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (170g)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (12g) (optional, for smoother chocolate coating)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Tray: Line a baking sheet or large platter with wax or parchment paper to prevent sticking and facilitate freezing.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced strawberries, vanilla Greek yogurt, and honey or preferred sweetener. Stir well until the mixture is evenly blended.
  3. Form Clusters: Using a spoon, drop dollops of the strawberry yogurt mixture onto the lined baking tray. Use the back of the spoon to spread each dollop into a small patty shape.
  4. Freeze Clusters: Place the tray in the freezer and freeze the clusters for at least three hours or overnight until they are fully frozen and firm.
  5. Melt Chocolate: Carefully melt the chocolate chips either in short bursts in the microwave or using a double boiler method on the stove. Stir in the optional coconut oil to achieve a smooth, glossy chocolate coating.
  6. Coat Clusters: Remove the frozen yogurt clusters from the freezer. Dip each cluster into the melted chocolate to coat thoroughly. Return the dipped clusters to the freezer for a few minutes to allow the chocolate to set completely.
  7. Serve and Store: Enjoy the clusters cold straight from the freezer. Store any leftovers in a covered container in the freezer where they will keep fresh for up to three months.

Notes

  • If using sweetened vanilla yogurt, you can skip the honey or maple syrup to reduce extra sugar.
  • The optional coconut oil in the chocolate coating improves texture and gloss but can be omitted if desired.
  • Ensure clusters are fully frozen before dipping in chocolate to help the coating set properly without melting the yogurt mixture.
  • Use dairy-free yogurt and chocolate chips to make this recipe vegan-friendly.
  • Store clusters in an airtight container in the freezer to maintain freshness and prevent freezer burn.
