Ingredients
- 4 flour tortillas, cut into wedges
- Olive oil spray (or nonstick cooking spray)
- Garlic salt, to taste
- Shredded Parmesan cheese, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and spray a large baking sheet with a nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
- Prepare tortillas: Arrange the flour tortilla wedges in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Season tortillas: Spray the tortilla wedges liberally with olive oil or nonstick spray. Then sprinkle shredded Parmesan cheese generously over each chip followed by a dash of garlic salt.
- Bake chips: Bake in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes until the chips become crispy. For extra crispiness, optionally broil the chips for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning.
- Serve: Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Serve these homemade baked tortilla chips with your favorite salsa or dip and enjoy!
Notes
- Keep a close eye while broiling, as chips can burn quickly.
- Use flour tortillas for a softer, chewier chip; corn tortillas can be substituted for a more traditional flavor but may require a shorter baking time.
- Adjust seasoning quantities to taste; additional spices like chili powder or paprika can be added for extra flavor.
- Store leftover chips in an airtight container for up to 3 days for best freshness.
