Description

Snickers Apple Salad is a delightful no-cook dessert salad combining the tartness of crisp apples with the creamy sweetness of whipped cream and cream cheese, layered with chunks of Snickers bars. Topped with caramel, chocolate sauce, and chopped peanuts, this salad is a crowd-pleaser perfect for parties or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Salad Base

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 8 ounce package cream cheese (softened)

Fruit

  • 8 medium tart apples (such as Granny Smith)

Snickers Candy

  • 4 full size Snickers candy bars
  • 1 additional Snickers bar (chopped)

Toppings

  • Caramel sauce
  • Chocolate sauce
  • Chopped peanuts

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cream Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well combined and fluffy.
  2. Prepare the Apples: Core and dice the 8 medium tart apples into bite-sized pieces. Using tart apples like Granny Smith ensures a nice balance with the sweet cream mixture.
  3. Chop Snickers Bars: Cut the 4 full-size Snickers candy bars into bite-sized chunks. Reserve the 1 additional Snickers bar to be chopped finely for sprinkling on top.
  4. Combine Salad Layers: In a large clear bowl or trifle dish, layer the diced apples, followed by the cream cheese and whipped cream mixture, and then sprinkle the chopped Snickers pieces evenly. Repeat these layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with the cream mixture on top.
  5. Add Toppings: Drizzle caramel sauce and chocolate sauce generously over the top layer. Sprinkle the finely chopped Snickers and chopped peanuts evenly as the final garnish.
  6. Chill: Cover the salad and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set slightly for easier serving.

Notes

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith to offset the sweetness of the cream and candy bars.
  • The salad can be prepared a few hours ahead and refrigerated for convenience.
  • For a crunchier texture, add chopped walnuts or pecans in place of or along with peanuts.
  • Be careful not to overmix the cream cheese and whipped cream mixture to keep it light and fluffy.
  • This dish contains dairy and nuts and is not suitable for people with allergies to these ingredients.
