Description

This refreshing White Wine Sangria combines the crispness of Pinot Grigio with the sweetness of vanilla syrup and a medley of fresh fruits, including orange, lime, strawberries, and raspberries. Enhanced with whole cinnamon sticks for a subtle spicy note, it’s a delightful and easy-to-make cocktail perfect for gatherings or a relaxing evening.

Ingredients

Scale

Liquids

  • 1 bottle of Pinot Grigio (750 ml)
  • ¼ cup Torani Vanilla Syrup

Fruits

  • 1 large Orange, sliced
  • 1 Lime, sliced
  • 1 package of fresh Strawberries (some whole, some sliced)
  • 1 package of fresh Raspberries (whole)

Spices

  • Whole Cinnamon Sticks (quantity to taste, typically 1-2 sticks)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the liquid base: In a large glass pitcher, pour the entire bottle of Pinot Grigio and add the ¼ cup of Torani Vanilla Syrup. Stir well to combine and set aside.
  2. Wash and dry fruits: Thoroughly rinse the orange, lime, strawberries, and raspberries under cold water. Lay them out on paper towels to dry completely to avoid diluting the sangria.
  3. Slice orange and collect juice: Place the orange in a large flat-bottomed bowl and slice it carefully, catching all the juice that escapes in the bowl.
  4. Add orange juice and slices: Pour the collected orange juice into the pitcher. Add all the sliced orange pieces to the sangria mixture in the pitcher.
  5. Repeat with lime and strawberries: Slice the lime and about half of the strawberries. Add both the lime slices and strawberry halves along with their juices into the pitcher.
  6. Add raspberries and release flavors: Place whole raspberries into the pitcher. Using a wooden spoon, gently smash a few raspberries and fruit slices inside the pitcher to release their ripe flavors without turning the sangria into a puree.
  7. Add cinnamon sticks and stir: Add one or two whole cinnamon sticks to the pitcher for a warm spicy undertone. Stir the mixture well to blend all flavors.
  8. Chill the sangria: Cover the pitcher and place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 1 to 2 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.
  9. Serve: When ready to serve, add fresh slices of fruit to each cocktail glass. Pour the chilled sangria over the fruit, filling each glass. Garnish the rim with additional fruit slices for a decorative touch and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Best served chilled; prepare at least 1-2 hours ahead to allow flavors to develop.
  • Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of vanilla syrup to taste.
  • Use fresh and ripe fruits for optimal flavor and visual appeal.
  • For a stronger cinnamon flavor, let the cinnamon sticks infuse overnight.
  • Can be made a day ahead and refrigerated for enhanced taste.
  • Alcohol-free version: substitute white grape juice for Pinot Grigio and omit vanilla syrup if desired.
